Course Outline

The primary goal of the Safety and Health Committee is to serve as a vital resource for the organization by reducing safety and health risks, improving the workplace environment, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

Course Aim

This course is designed for Safety and Health Committee members to understand their roles and functions within the workplace. It is linked and cross-referenced to the companion Good Practice Guide, providing formal training on the importance of hazard identification.

Course Objectives

The objectives of this program are to bring about greater awareness of the need to recognize workplace hazards. Upon completion of the course participants will be able to:

  • Explain the basic requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994.
  • Understand the provisions of the Safety and Health Committee Regulations 1996.
  • Conduct effective Safety and Health Committee meetings.
  • Conduct workplace inspections effectively.
  • Understand incident reporting & investigation techniques.

Appraisal Process (Exam)

This is a no pass or fail outcome however instructors will reinforce Learner understanding by way of a 30-minute ‘open book’ questionnaire, conducted at the end of the training day.

Certification

Learners will receive a UK registered NOCN Certificate Level 3 for Safety and Health Committee at the Workplace. Certificates are awarded from the UK and will be forwarded post course in soft copy to the individuals and/or the employer point of contact.
