Target Group
The HOT WORKS APPRECIATION COURSE training is designed for:
- Yard management staff.
- Yard supervisors who have a responsibility for welding, fabrication and other related hot works in a shipyard or fabrication yard.
- Safety Officers.
Course Outline
This programme is designed for those involved in hot works in a shipyard or fabrication yard. The course is designed as a safety awareness appreciation course rather than being a compliance-based training programme. It is the responsibility of the employer and its employees to comply with all relevant OSHA/safety rules and regulations, as well as formal discipline training requirements in the jurisdiction in which they work.
Course Aims & Objectives
After this training, the Learners should be able to:
- Appreciate why personnel engaged in hot works need to be properly trained and need to be competent.
- Appreciate why equipment must be in top condition at all times.
- Appreciate why processes and procedures must be respected and followed at all times.
- Appreciate what the risks are to people, equipment and facilities in the workplace.
