This program introduces the learner to the basic knowledge and initial Emergency Response actions expected to be undertaken by personnel who are appointed, or who may be appointed, to perform or support the role of Fire Warden or a function in support of the warden such as Muster/Assembly, Medic or Designated First Aider. It is designed to equip learners with an understanding of the importance of preparedness and with the skills needed to effectively and safely lead or support Emergency Response initial actions in the workplace.

Learners attending this programme will be given a series of explanations and demonstrations that will identify what they are expected to know and do. This will be followed by practical exercises allowing Learners to practice their skills, knowledge and understanding of the Leadership role. Learners will also be appraised against the training outcomes (in a classroom environment), testing their delivery skills and underpinning knowledge of the theory learning Elements.
This is a no pass or fail outcome however instructors will gauge and reinforce Learner understanding by way of a 30-minute ‘open book’ knowledge test conducted at the end of the theory training.
Learners will receive a Certificate Level 3 for Fire Warden Emergency Response.
There are no pre-requisites for the FWER program.
