( CSE )
Course Outline
This training provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely enter, work in, and respond to emergencies within confined spaces. The course covers confined space identification and hazards, permit-to-work systems, risk assessment and hazard control, atmospheric monitoring, use of personal protective equipment, safe entry procedures, and confined space rescue principles, in line with recognized international standards
Aim
To equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and practical understanding to safely plan, enter, work in, and exit confined spaces, while complying with legal and organizational safety requirements.
Learning Outcomes
- Understand the definition, types, and hazards of confined spaces.
- Identify legal requirements, permits, and responsibilities for safe entry.
- Demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and monitoring devices.
- Apply safe entry and rescue procedures, including emergency response.
- Recognize and control potential hazards to prevent incidents in confined spaces.
Pre-requisite, Preferred Learner Experience & Duration
- Participants must be medically fit for confined space work.
- Participants should have basic safety awareness and an understanding of workplace hazards.
- Prior experience in industrial, maintenance, operations, or emergency response environments is recommended but not mandatory.
- For rescue roles, participants should be physically capable of performing practical rescue activities.
- Course size is not less than 6 and a maximum of 12

Certification
Learners will receive a WGG Offshore Academy endorsed Certificate in “Confined Space Entry (CSE)”.
Validity & Refresher
Though there is no formal expiry date for this certification, it is suggested that the CSE course is attended as a refresher by the learner when he/she starts work at a new location within the company.
