Emergency Management Team
( EMT )
Introduction
This programme provides personnel with formal training in the strategy, tactics, command and control, communications and coordination elements used in the management of major emergencies.
Emergency Coordinator (EC) will be supported by an ‘Emergency Management Team (EMT), and the course also designed for personnel who form part of that team who might be expected to take over the EC role in the event of unexpected absence or sickness, such as:
- Operational
- Planning
- Logistics
- Finance / Admin
The aim and objectives of EC training, the delegates able to:
- Recall the key elements of the management of emergencies.
- Assess the situation and take effective action.
- Maintain communications with internal and external agencies.
- Assign the authority to act.
- Manage individual and team performance.
Target Audience
Personnel who are part of an ONSHORE Emergency Management Team; with APPRAISAL for the Emergency Coordinator, Team Leader, or Duty Manager of the team, of those who may be expected to fill the top position as a backup.
Performance Assessment
Multiple Practical scenario simulations with at least 2 x Direct Observation Appraisals, (this programme no pass or fail) for each Emergency Coordinator, Team Leader, or Duty Manager.
Pre-requisite
No formal delegate pre-requisites, the course is run for a total of 6 delegates, and 2 of which will be appraised. The maximum number is 20 delegates per session.
