Emergency Response for Support Vessel

Outline
The course will provide Learners with formal training in the strategy, tactics, command and control, communications and coordination elements used in the management of major emergencies.
Target Group
The course is designed for personnel who are vessel Captains or Senior Crew Members whose responsibilities include the support of any ‘offshore facility’ should they have an emergency incident and is based on the principles of the Incident Command System (ICS).
Aims
To introduce Support Vessel Captains and Senior Crew Members to the basic Major Emergency Management (MEM) philosophy, and what the Offshore Platform expects when providing support in emergency.
The Learners will be able to:
1. Understand major emergencies and the principals of ICS.
2. Understand EMT roles and responsibilities.
3. Understand the need for good communications and information management.
4. Understand the ECC facilities and equipment.
Objectives
To train personnel through theory, simulation and practical demonstration responding appropriately to emergencies offshore.
Demonstrate the ability to maintain effective communications throughout an emergency with the Offshore Platform.
