Overall, the goal of this course will prepare aircrew to cope with the hazards that may be encountered before, during, and immediately after a helicopter ditching at sea, wherein aircrew will be supplied with a compressed air emergency breathing system (CA-EBS) during helicopter travel.
The aim of this course is to provide aircrew with the skills necessary to coordinate the evacuation and egress from a ditched helicopter.
Prepare learners that intend to travel by helicopter by providing specific training in pre-flight and in-flight requirements and to equip learners with the basic emergency response knowledge and skills required in the event of a helicopter emergency. The learners will be able to demonstrate, in a simulated environment, that they can use the safety equipment, and follow procedures in preparing for, and during helicopter emergencies – with particular focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching.
Training activities contained within this package may be physically demanding and potentially stressful to learners. All learners who participate in such activities must be capable of participating fully.
As a minimum, prior to participating in practical exercises, the learners must possess a valid, current medical certificate.
This is a no pass or fail outcome however instructors will reinforce Learner understanding by way of a 30-minute ‘open book’ questionnaire and conducted practical assessment on the training day.
Learners will receive a UK registered NOCN Certificate Level 3 for Helicopter Underwater Emergency Training. Certificates are awarded from the UK and will be forwarded post course in soft copy to the individuals and/or the employer point of contact.
